Fixings & Controls The blinds are easily fitted using multi-directional brackets which can be face fixed to the face of the window or wall, into the side of the recess or fixed into the top of the window recess. All necessary brackets are included but we don't supply screws or wall plugs with these blinds as we don't know what you'll be installing into.
Manufacturing Tolerance & Weight Please note that made to measure blinds are made within a 4mm manufacturer tolerance on both the width and drop of the blind. Blinds over 200cm wide will be heavy due to the weight of the slats. We strongly suggest where possible to split larger windows into smaller blinds.
Made to Measure Blinds A product that requires the exact width to be typed in the box is 'Made-to-Measure' and cannot be returned under our normal terms and conditions.
Valances All blinds are supplied with a matching valance to cover the headrail and brackets. If you select a recess size blind, the valance will be made to the same size as the blind is ordered. If you are ordering the blind as an 'exact' size, typically chosen when installing the blind outside of the recess, the valance will be made wider, with a return on each end to cover the end brackets on the blind. Please Note This blind type is not suitable for conservatories due to the high temperatures they can reach in the summer months which can result in the slats warping.
Child Safety Notice
Every pair of blinds that we manufacture include relevant child safety devices and comply with British Safety Standard EN13120.
When you receive your new blinds, you must install all supplied safety devices. To make it easy, we include instructions for installing the safety devices in the fitting instructions that you receive with your order.

If your blinds do not include any additional safety devices, that may be due to them being safe by design.

This blind can not be returned or refunded unless there is a manufacturing defect or error. In which case, your new blind is covered by our 5-year warranty and will be remanufactured and re-delivered free of charge.

Measure the width
Decide how much overlap you want your wooden blind to have on each side of your window recess.

Left and Right Overlap
We recommend your wooden blind overlaps your window recess by at least 5cm on each side (10cm overall).
For Greater Light Elimination
The more your wooden blind overlaps your window recess, the more light you eliminate.
Measure the drop
Measure the height from where you want the top of the headrail to start, and the bottom bar to finish. This is your drop measurement.

Top Overlap
We recommend your wooden blind overlaps the top of your window recess by at least 7cm.
Bottom Overlap
The desired overlap at the bottom of your window recess is personal choice. Check for obstructions such as radiators. If your window sill protudes more than 5cm, you should stop your blind at this point.

Measuring for Wooden Blinds
Use this measuring guide if you would like to split your window into multiple blinds. Great for large windows or windows with a very defined split.
Mark your split point
With a pencil, make a small mark where you'd like to split your wooden blinds.
Helpful Hints
Recommended Split Point
If you have a vertical window mullian or door frame, we’d suggest using this as your split point. Alternatively use the centre of the window you’re covering.
Please Note:
There will be a small gap between your blinds to accommodate the brackets.
Measure the width
Measure between the edge of your window recess and your split point mark.
Use this measurement as your width.

Once installed you will have a gap of 0.5cm between your blinds. The gap will be determined by how close you install the central brackets.

Measure the distance from the frame of your window to the outside of any obstruction, such as handles or vents.

Our wooden blinds have a headrail depth of 7.5cm. Add this depth to the depth of any window obstructions, such as handles. This will give you your total depth.

Calculation example
If your window handle protrudes 4cm from your window frame, your calculation would be 7.5cm + 4cm. So total depth of 11.5cm.
